From Care to Courage CIC was founded on a simple belief: every young person deserves to be seen, heard and given the opportunity to succeed.

Created by professionals with extensive experience and qualifications in education (QTS), safeguarding, special educational needs (SENCO), pastoral support and school leadership, our organisation was built on the understanding that meaningful change happens through strong relationships, understanding and support.

We understand that behind every behaviour, circumstance or barrier is a story. We also recognise the challenges faced by the professionals, families and organisations working to support young people every day.

What makes From Care to Courage different is our commitment to combining professional expertise, lived experience and relational practice. We believe lasting change is built through connection, trust and opportunity.

As a Community Interest Company, our purpose is to create positive social impact by empowering young people, supporting professionals and strengthening communities. We are passionate about helping young people overcome barriers, recognise their strengths and realise their potential, while ensuring the adults around them feel confident, equipped and supported.

I founded From Care to Courage by combining my professional expertise with my own lived experience.

As an experienced Teacher, Senior Leader, SENCO-qualified practitioner and safeguarding professional, I have spent many years supporting vulnerable, disadvantaged and care-experienced young people within education.

My own experiences of care, poverty, trauma and being a young carer have shaped my belief that every young person deserves to feel seen, heard and valued. I am passionate about helping young people build confidence, resilience and belonging, while supporting the professionals who work alongside them.

Throughout my career, I have seen how easily young people can become defined by their academic attainment, while the impact of trauma, adversity and other barriers to learning is overlooked. I believe that progress should be measured by more than academic outcomes alone. By prioritising relational practice and investing in positive relationships between young people and the adults who support them, schools can help children develop not only academically, but personally, emotionally and socially.

Through mentoring, CPD, workshops and consultancy, I help create environments where young people can realise their potential, overcome barriers and break the cycle they were born into and professionals can build strong relationships to enable them to support this.

 At From Care to Courage CIC, we believe that meaningful change begins with relationships.

Our impact is measured not only by the training we deliver, but by the confidence we build, the understanding we develop and the opportunities we help create for young people and the professionals who support them.

Through relational CPD, workshops, consultancy, advocacy and inspirational speaking, we work to strengthen relationships, improve inclusion and empower those working alongside vulnerable children and young people.
